We took a very short weekend trip to Kansas City.  We specifically went to attend an art show opening at the Belger Arts Center. The show featured Katie Parker and Guy Michael Davis’ ceramic work.  You can read more about the gallery and their work here:

We also took advantage of the cooler weather to eat some very good food and visit Christopher Elbow for hot chocolate with handmade marshmallows.  It was pretty decadent!

We stayed at our favorite hotel at the Country Club Plaza.  The staff at the hotel are always just wonderful.  We love that the staff is pretty consistent and some of them have been there since the hotel opened.  We always enjoy sitting in the lobby and just hanging out.

Here are some pictures from Katie and Mike’s show:

It was First Friday Art Walk in Kansas City and the place was rocking.  Kansas City is such a beautiful town and the Country Club Plaza has been popular for decades.

Do you have any favorite shops, restaurants or art galleries that we should see when we go back in November?

One of my favorite shops is J’adore. It’s a quaint, French garden and decorative shop located at 63rd Street and Oak just east of the Brookside area. It’s charming!!
